Toll Fees

To maintain the quality characteristics of any modern motorway unaltered, continuous investments are required. Payment of toll fees is one of the most effective methods of financing both the construction and the maintenance and continuous improvement of the infrastructure and provided services.

According to the institutional framework for the operation of Nea Odos, the toll fee price for each station is determined as follows:

• At frontal stations and per direction, based on the entire length of the zone it belongs to.
• At lateral exit stations, depending on the distance travelled from the beginning of the zone the station belongs to the station, while at lateral entry stations it depends on the distance the user will travel from the toll station to the end of the zone.

In no case is it possible for users paying toll fees at a frontal station to pay again at a lateral station in the same zone, on the same trip. Correspondingly, in no case is it possible for users paying toll fees at a lateral station to pay again at a frontal or lateral station in the same zone, on the same trip.

For the section of the A.Th.E. motorway, three toll fee payment zones have been set out.

• Zone one (Metamorfosi – Schimatari I/C, total length 51 km): Frontal station at Afidnes & lateral stations at Kapandriti, Malakasa, and Oinofyta (Entry station in the Athens-Lamia direction / Exit station in the Lamia-Athens direction).
• Zone two (Schimatari to the Martino I/C, total length 59.6 km): Thiva frontal station & Thiva lateral station (Exit station in the Athens – Lamia direction / Entry station in the Lamia – Athens direction).
• Zone three (Martino I/C to Skarfia – end of project): Traganas frontal station & Traganas lateral station (Entry station in the Athens – Lamia direction / Exit station in the Lamia – Athens direction).

Four toll fee payment zones have been set out for Ionia Odos:

• Zone one (Antirrio I/C to Chaliki I/C, total length 45.96 km) : Klokova Frontal station, Gavrolimni Lateral station (Exit station in the Ioannina-Antirrio direction / Entry station in the Antirrio-Ioannina direction), Missolonghi Lateral station (Entry station in the Antirrio-Ioannina / Exit station in the Ioannina-Antirrio direction).
• Zone two (Chaliki I/C – Amfilochia I/C, total length of 54.7 km): Aggelokastro Frontal station & Kouvara Lateral station (Entry station in the Antirrio-Ioannina direction / Exit station in the Ioannina-Antirrio direction).
• Zone three (Amfilochia I/C – Filippiada I/C, total length 54.7 km): Menidi Frontal station & Arta Lateral station (Entry station in the Antirrio-Ioannina direction / Exit station in the Ioannina-Antirrio direction)
• Zone four (Filippiada I/C – Egnatia I/C – end of project, total length 48.2 km.): Terovo Frontal station & Gorgomylos Lateral station (Exit station in the Antirrio-Ioannina direction / Entry station in the Ioannina-Antirrio direction).

Payment methods:  

	Physical payment in cash or by credit/debit card at the toll collector.
	Electronic payment via the Fast Pass Nea Odos transponder.
	At the Automated Coin Machines that accept cash and/or credit/debit cards.
