Ongoing investments are required in order to keep unchanged the quality characteristics of contemporary motorways. Paying toll rates is one of the most effective methods for financing construction and maintenance, as well as improving our cutting-edge motorways.
At this stage, and in accordance with the institutional framework of Nea Odos, at A.TH.E motorway, three toll zones are identified:
- The first toll zone includes Metamorfossi I/C to Schimatari I/C with a total length of 51km. The following stations are included within this zone: Afidnes Frontal Toll Station and Kapandriti, Malakassa & Inofyta Lateral Toll Stations (Entrance towards Athens – Lamia/ Exit towards Lamia -Athens).
- The second zone includes Schimatari I/C to Martino I/C with a total length of 59,6 km. The following stations are included within this zone: Thiva Frontal Toll Station and Thiva Lateral Toll Station (Exit towards Athens – Lamia/ Entrance towards Lamia – Athens).
- The third zone includes Martino I/C to the End of the motorway in Skarfia. The following stations are included within this zone: Tragana Frontal Toll Station and Tragana Lateral Toll Station (Entrance towards Athens – Lamia/ Exit towards Lamia – Athens).
Accordingly, at Ionia Odos motorway, four toll zones are identified:
- The first toll zone includes Antirrio I/C to Chaliki I/C with a total length of 45.96 km. The following stations are included within this zone: Klokova Frontal Toll Station and Gavrolimni & Mesologgi Lateral Toll Stations (Entrance towards Antirrio – Ioannina/ Exit towards Ioannina -Antirrio).
- The second zone includes Chaliki I/C to Amfilohia I/C with a total length of 54,7 km. The following stations are included within this zone: Aggelokastro Frontal Toll Station and Kouvara Lateral Toll Station (Entrance towards Antirrio – Ioannina/ Exit towards Ioannina – Antirrio).
- The third zone includes Amfilohia I/C to Filippiada I/C with a total length of 46,6 km. The following stations are included within this zone: Menidi Frontal Toll Station and Arta Lateral Toll Station (Entrance towards Antirrio – Ioannina/ Exit towards Ioannina – Antirrio).
- The fourth zone includes Filippiada I/C to the End of the motorway in Egnatia I/C. The following stations are included within this zone: Terovo Frontal Toll Station and Gorgomylos Lateral Toll Station (Exit towards Antirrio – Ioannina/ Entrance towards Ioannina – Antirrio).
The toll rate per station is determined as follows:
- At each frontal toll station and per direction, the toll rate is determined based on the total length of the zone to which it belongs.
- At the exit from lateral toll stations, the toll rate corresponds to the length traveled from the beginning of the zone to which the station belongs, up to the station. In the lateral toll stations, the toll rate corresponds to the length of the road to be travelled by the user from the toll station to the end of the zone.
Under no circumstances can any user who has paid the toll fee at the frontal station pay again at a lateral station in the same zone, during the same journey. Respectively, under no circumstances can any user who has paid the toll fee at the lateral station pay again at a frontal station in the same zone, during the same journey.
